Can someone make me a Cat 5 cable?

Don't have the crimpers but could supply everything else. Trying to get this done this afternoon if possible.

Why not just go buy a pre made cable? I have crimpers somewhere in a box in the garage (just moved), but I am up in Highland Village.

Ahhhh.... Kind of hard to find one that length! And if you did, they would charge you a buttload. Where are you located?

I could definitely meet you somewhere closer to you. Your doing me a favor so I don't need you to come to me.

Anywhere along I35 heading up your way is fine? Say in a couple of hours or 1.5? I'm in the middle of cooking.

For the gas you will spend running around, go to Radio Shack and buy a crimper for about $12.

I've never done a set of cables before. I guess this way I'll see it first hand and learn.

Ahem, in this section positive things always come about.

...

Truth be told, for anything longer then 25' I usually just order it from an ebay supplier. Good cables - hell a lot of them are molded and have snagless clips on them. I hate making cables, so even if I can borrow copper from work - I'll still order it.

I normally have a pretty good experience with people on the board although I'll be the first to admit I've had problems with the classifieds with being stood up. But whenever I've needed help or advice I usually come out ok.

ceyko, can you send me a link to some cables you've found on eBay? And what are snagless clips?

So which one of these diagrams is correct? Picked up a crimper set this morning and plan on making my next set of cables know that I've got an idea of what to do.

I always default to the b standard.

This is one example of a snagless clip. There are several varieties and this is the cheapest type...

I'm at work right now and can't really fiddle around on ebay. I think one of the usernames was cables4less

That's cool, I understand with you mean by the snagless connectors.

Appreciate it. They were cheap enough that I bought my own set now.
