Question about processors

Is there a huge difference between a 1.8 GHz and a 2.0 GHz processor? I'm specifically talking about the Intel Core Duo processor.

Not a huge difference, really.

laptop processors are slow, 200mhz is a decent difference, depending on the cost. Just get one with lots of memory imo.

It's a $100 difference and it will have 1G of memory. Is that enough?

For $100 I would go with the faster processor.

those duo core processors are basically 2 cpu's in one computer, 2 cores on one chip and they haul ass for the speed, but I would go for the 2.0 as well for the $100.

It's 10% faster for $100, I guess it depends on the price and what else it comes with and what software you plan on using with it. They both have the same cache size and use the same bus speed so for most day to day use they'll be fairly close in performance. If you do video editing or lots of photoshop work then yeah it's probably worth the extra money. Just for e-mail, surfing the net and the occasional word document though I don't see it being worth it.

Personally I always buy the biggest, baddest thing out there so I don't have to worry about if I made the right choice or not.

No fast cars though
