Angry Major computer problem

I got this pop up, or what I thought was a pop up asking me to run some error scan program, but I xd it out. It said I had disk errors, but I thought it was some internet pop up bullshit. Anyways, now whenever I click ANY link or go to any URL, it will load the page, but another window pops up in addition and brings the 404 CANNOT BE FOUND page on, and the url is some weird IP address.

Thanks in advance, this is annoying the shit out of me.

I searched for viruses, scanned for errors, ran my Adaware spyware removal program and its still going on. I DL Firefox and it doesnt happen at all.

If I have a Trojan horse how do I find and get rid of it?!? Usually my virus program finds those.

Download and run AVG for free. You might need something more powerful than ad-aware.

sounds like you got some nasty adware going. I occassionally get those , usually its pr0n or shitty european gaming sites. bastards....anyway, yes, you need to do some of the following:

Download "hijackthis!" and run the crap out of it. Run the crap out of Spybot S&D, and Adaware. Run those things liberally until you eradicate the problem, otherwise even if you disable some processes that are the problem, it will pop up again like herpes unless you get rid of all of them. It really seems like you have a hijacking issue.

Thats another thing, go into your windows startup (start menu, run, type msconfig, and then click on the start up tab) and look for any wierd programs that you would never use. That is probably your problem right there. Usually the processes come in sets of twos , so it has redundancy.

Others will have more specific help, but this should get you started. I can now beat down hijacking in a day now, but it requires a lot of work and diligence.

Something weird i found when i did that hijackthis scan:

"Broken internet access because of LSP provider 'bmnet.dll' missing."

Could that be my problem? And if it is, what is the remedy?

I had that problem and Mcafee got rid of it, when norton or any other anti virus would not. I am not saying McAfee is the best I am just saying it is the only thing that would remove it. You can go on McAfees website and do a free online virus scan and it will tell you what kind of virus it is.

I have McAfee and did a scan and nothing came out of it. Ive also ran Spy Dr., Adaware Personal SE, and Error Clean. Nothing. Im wondering if I deleted something by mistake.
