Fiber Optic Cabling

Does any one here work w/ fiber optics? My appt.'s were just wired up for FIOS but only w/ one connection. I need it in more locations w/ in the apt.

BTW, Verizon wants well over fiddy bucks for ea. additional connection installed by them!!!

Just run cat5 or wireless, you wont use the bandwidth between the computers that much.

When I have lan gaming with about 6 people at my house we use a 100mb local network. I have a 3mb cable connection to the internet. We are playing games, sharing files and serfing the web with no slow down.

I've only spoke with coworkers who have FIOS. As far as I know it does arrive in your location as fiber. However, they give ya a transceiver as well. Also, you still need a receiver for the TV stuff.

50 bux to have their fiber split to your place ain't bad. Hell, we just paid a guy 75bux to replace an LC connector on a cable of ours. (Work stuff, not personal)

Of course, stealing the cable sig is a different ball game then stealing the Internet service.
