consoles

my dad is going to China later this year, and i was thinking that an Xbox 360 or something, possibly cheaper then it is here. my question is, if i do this, would i still be able to use it here, play games on it from here and all?

not generally. I know the PS2 requires you to use games released in the country the console was purchased in.

yeah, i was hoping that it would work with microsoft though.

Playstations and Xbox can both be modified to run American games. You're not going to save much money, maybe $50 max.

Yep, too much trouble and Im sure Cruz would know more than I do about them but I dont think the Xbox360 can be modded yet.

He'd have hell trying to smuggle a 360 over. If you wanna smuggle something get a Rolex watch, he can wear it through customs and if he's dressed accordingly noone will be the wiser.

how would that be smuggling? would it really be illeagal to bring something like that back home?

If you declare it then he'll be okay. I think the duty free exemption is $800 per traveller right now. Personally I'd just buy one here
