Well, at least they got rid of that Boomarang controller. Too bad they replaced it with a complete ripoff of Nintendo's new Revolution controller (I refuse to call it the Wii)

i know you aren't shocked at the price. I will wait for the price to drop down to 300 with the 60 gig till then it will be xbox 360, and the nintendo revolution. that gun game they have for it looks bad ass and the way the controler is used is even better.

More news. The $500 version of the PS3 will not have HDMI support. As I recall, BluRay requires HDMI for high def playback.

What the fuck are they thinking?

BTW, Nintendo will be giving final details on the Revolution today at 11:30.

I know that - It's just that I probably won't be getting one anytime soon at that price.

The PS3 will have the old controller design for the most part. with small tweaks to it plus they have added a motion sensor to the controller to be used with certain games.

"The PS3 controller Is set to include Bluetooth technology for wireless play with the addition of USB cables to wire the controller for recharging.

The most interesting announcement came regarding the inclusion of a ‘six-axis sensing system’ and the removal of the vibrating core. The press release stated that, "Pursuant to the introduction of this new six-axis sensing system, the vibration feature that is currently available on DUALSHOCK and DUALSHOCK 2 controllers for PlayStation and PlayStation 2, will be removed from the new PS3 controller as vibration itself interferes with information detected by the sensor."

Sounds exciting and hopefully the sensors will add a whole other dimension to the PS3 gameplay. This feature could possibly work well in an FPS game were the camera reacts to the movements of the controller."

The PS3 is a badass machine. Im beta testing some of the games for Terminal Reality and needless to say they are quite impressive. I dont know if its enough to get me to buy a $500 console, but if I didnt already have a $1400 gaming computer, I would definitely consider getting a PS3 and a cheap PC. It is fucking amazing what they are doing with the physics processors in the new PS

It'll be interesting to see how many bites they get at that price point. Or if it will become a "must have" christmas item, and will reset the price point that consoles are expected to sell for.

Seems a little risky to me, but it will be interesting to watch it play out.

Before the Xbox 360 came out, I'd never have thought that people would pay $400 for a game console. Now $600? I guess some people will pay it, but not me! Shoot, that's like 3 tanks of gas.

'98 Camaro SS: Incon twin turbo. Sold
'99 Camaro SS: Heads/cam/bolt-ons. Sold.
'91 Camaro RS: Stock.

2010 Camaro SS: Hell yes.

agreed. It's a combination of high prices and my lowered interest of gaming that is probably going to keep me from buying another console for a while.
