Norton Problem

Been having problems updating a specific update for Norton. I don't have the reciept anymore, but I still have the box and stuff. I got it at Frys. Any of ya can help me on this, I don't really want to go to Frys for this, that's if it's really the problem.

Same thing here with Dell. I ended up purchasing Mcafee for the year. The corp office is right down the street so I figured if is gets messed up I will go knock on the damn door.

Try all of these suggestions:
http://service1.symantec.com/support...rc=con_ols_nam

If that doesn't work...call Dell and tell them you need to be able to get a version that will update. If you would like to send me the Service or Express Service Tag number, I will call them for you.

Or you could remove that, install AVG Free and not pay for AV anymore

I reset the privacy level in my Internet options to "Default" and it was fixed.

If it is just your Virus descriptions you can download the manually at
http://securityresponse.symantec.com...es/US-N95.html

but you will have to do this every few days to keep yourself up to date....if it is a older version of nortont you are SOL...they wont help you

The free AVG antivirus does not include a firewall. Better than nothing, but the lack of a firewall is troubling.

However, AVG does have a firewall version of it's AV and the price is quite reasonable. I got tired of having to uninstall/reinstall norton every 90 days to fix problems, and having norton consume my machine on a regular basis. Finally junked it and went with AVG firewall version. The speed improvement is amazing.....
