Nvidia 7900GTX

Anyone else getting a 7900 series right away. I bought a EVGA 7800GT a few months ago so I wouldn't normally upgrade this quick but EVGA has a 90day Step-Up program that gives you full credit for your old card towards the trade-in of a newer model. So I am going from a 7800GT to a 7900GTX for a little over $150. Can't beat that deal. Luckily these cards retail $150 cheaper than the 7800GTX when it was released.

Well, it only like 5~8% faster than my 7800GTX 512MB, so i won't be upgrading anytime soon. And I haven't seen it anywhere less than $600 yet, but i'll wait until the NDA is lifted so we can see reviews and such..

Wait, isn't the NDA lifted today?

edit: wow, a quick look around on NVnews.net, and found out that Newegg is selling the 7900GTX 512MB for $474..
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814130279

beats what I paid for my GTX by alot!

edit #2: yeah, these 7900GTs are getting crazy overclocks and in some situations it is besting the GTX512. BUT for those who have a GTX512, the 7900series is just a refresh and isn't worth upgrading from my GTX512. I'll wait for G80, although the 90nm process that the 7900series is on makes it interesting to see what Nvidia has in plans for the G80.

The standard GTX is going for $499 and the GT for $299. These are excellent prices considering what the 7800GTX and GT started at when they first came out. Just about every online shop has them posted up now. Will be a huge step up from my 7800GT for a small amount of money. Looks like they finally decided to come out with a quality cooling solution even on the base cards this time. Combine that with the fact that they are more efficient and it appears the base cards will be great overclockers. I am a little disappointed that they still only have 24 pixel pipes. I am super happy with the EVGA Step-Up program. I will have another 90 days with this card to step up again if desired.

Its not all about the number of pipelines though.
The new 7900GT/GTX is a great upgrade for those who have 7800GTX (256MB), and 7800GT's. Its not worth it for those who have 7800 GTX512's though.
My XFX is clocked at 650/1800 but I run it at 600/1800 everyday and I'm completely happy with it for now. DX10 should be around the corner and the new G80 is where my money will go towards.

From a price perspective, these should sell fast! I paid alot for mine, almost too much but it was worth just so I don't have to spend cash on this refresh.

I ordered the 7900GTX 512mb base card (non-overclocked). I am #25 on the EVGA Step-Up program waiting list so hopefully I will have the card in about a week. Unfortunately when my spot comes up I have to send them my old card and wait for it to be tested before they will ship out the new unit. I may be without a video card for about a week.

Well congrats on the step-up, i'm interested in seeing some real world performance from your upcoming 7900GTX compared to my 7800GTX particulary in F.E.A.R. w/ soft shadows on and Splinter Cell 3.
What kind cpu is pushing all of this btw?

edit: I would also like to see some results in NFS:MW.

I will post some results in both games when the card arrives. I have a 3800 Venice running at 2.7Ghz w/G.Skill Extreme 2GBHZ memory running 270fsb.
