where to buy windows for new dell?

cliff notes:

just bought new dell ... windows not installed ... I need excel, pp, word, etc.

So, I need to buy microsoft office...

where should I go? I looked on ebay, but how do I know I'm not getting ripped off or getting a used version (or a version that's already been registered).

about how much should I pay?

Thanks!

if you know ANYONE in college ..have them go to the university book store and buy it for you ..it will be wicked cheap there

To me, clowns aren't funny. In fact, they're kind of scary. I've wondered where this started and I think it goes back to the time I went to the circus, and a clown killed my dad.

I don't have internet at home... where the comp is... and I probably won't get it for awhile...

Also, is open office compatable with microsoft? because I need to be able to transfer info from my home computer to work computer via 3.5"

Completely compatible. We just installed it on 400 technician laptops at work and have had no problems. I have used it for awhile and it works great. If you know anyone that is a teacher they can get the same prices as the student.
