Norton

I'm trying to erase Norton Antivirus completely off of my computer. I've called Norton, but they aren't any help because I can't understand what they are saying.. foreigners. Is there anyone who can help me remove it?

I hope you are planning on installing another antivirus? You should be able to remove it like any other program.

Start, Control Panel, Add/Remove Programs, and find it in the list and select remove.

So what happens when you try to uninstall it? Please be detailed.

It expired last month. I can get MacAfee for free with Comcast. When I go to remove it, it prompts that I don't have authorization to remove it. I called Comcast and asked them, and they said that Norton is a bitch about removing their products. Since it has expired, I can't log in to my email or anything that is password protected. I can update it, but now I'm so aggravated with Norton that I don't even want to use them.

Is it prompting you for a password when you try to uninstall? If so, try "symantec" without the quotes.

Are you logged on as an administrator?

No, it's not prompting for a password. I never set my computer up to log in differently. I'd say I am logged on as administrator. No one else has owned my computer.

I don't know what the hell is wrong with it. I'll probably have to have someone just look at it because it's hard to explain when I don't know much about computers.
