ipod song transferring ?

dont know if this has been discussed or not but i hate the fact that when you download new music to your ipod, it erases what you had on there. and when you download the new songs plus the old ones, you get the old ones on there twice. is there anyway to fix this to where you can add new songs without erasing the old ones????

btw....to transfer from my comp to the ipod i download songs on bearshare and play them using itunes. then when i plug my ipod to my comp it transfers automatically.

oh ya, i SUcK At thE iNTerweB!!1!!1!!1!!!1!!!!

since he wasn't so eloquent, and can't read an instruction manual, maybe you guys can help me.

Yes, iTunes sucks, there are also other programs that may fit your liking better, namely, Vpod, Ephpod, lmnopod, Anapod, etc.

Why won't my ipod consistently be recognized by my computer as a disk drive? That's my question. Sometimes it do, sometimes it don't.

I've erased my entire Ipod once, but it was my fault. It never delets any of my songs, movies, or videos when i add new stuff. Geeze, You do suck. You should try calling up an Apple store. They have always been really helpful, when I can't get through to tech support or whatever.

Open Itunes, go to edit ->preferences -> ipod

From there you can pick whether you want itunes to automatically update your ipod or which playlists do you want updated only. Sorry its not too specific but if you need any more help just ask.

Exactly.

It's the first thing you should do when you get an ipod and set up itunes. I've never had any problems with my 2 ipods, and itunes on all 5 computers in my home. I'd rather manually control my library. I used my ipod to move my library to my new laptop and my game rig for backup purposes.

The info is out there.. RTFM, and google.
