want to build a new system, what to get??

Hello all. I want to build a new PC to upgrade my old system below is my current system. What should i get to replace it or should i just upgrade what i have??

abit it-7 max 2 mobo
intel 2.4 ghz L2 processor
1 gig pc 2700. Corsair i believe
Maxtor 7200 8mg buffer HD
Nvidia 4600TI 128mg Video card. This i want to upgrade for Battlefield 2.

How much are you wanting to spend? My opinion is to upgrade to a AMD64 setup but Im a little biased on teh intel vs amd thing. Your other option is to upgrade your video card and overclock your currrent setup.

I dont want to spend a fortune. I guess my question is if i get a much better video card can i play BF2 with no problem??

if bf2 is all you care about right now id just get a 6800gt and another gig of pc3200. run it together with your 2700, (will only be able to run as fast as your slowest memory, but will give you some upgrade room in the future)
