New Computer!

Well I just got done building my new monster and updating all the drivers so tell me what you guys think.............

Abit Fatality AN8 SLI mobo
AMD 64 3800
1gb Mushkin w/heat spreaders (2x512) DDR400
74gb Raptor
ATI Radeon X800XL 256mb
Win XP SP2
Zalman Ultra Quiet CPU fan

I was going to go with Nvidia card since that is what I have always run but they (Fry's) didnt have much to choose from in 256 PCIx from Nvidia. This thing is a freaking monster though. I just got done running Half Life 2 with everything maxed out and it didnt hicup a bit.

One question though, what is TOO hot for a processor? I saw my CPU temp hit 115f whiole playing battelfield 2 a bit ago, is that TOO hot?

Just keep the cpu under 55c, that's always been my rule of thumb.

I hear ya...

Lots of Frys haters around here but I haven't had a problem with them. You just have to make sure the stuff you buy hasn't been opened or returned.

I'm going to look into getting one of those fans. The fan I have now makes more noise than a fan at a Yankees game. If it is compatible and reasonably priced, Iíll pick one up.
