Computer Setup

Wanting to get some opinions on this setup I'm thinking about going with. I play BF2 and CS:Source a lot so I need it to run good and smooth.

EDIT: links further down working

Was wondering about the hard drive, should i go ahead and spend the extra for the raptor? i've heard great things about them, are they that much superior?

Also, I know this is a back and forth battle, but wanting opinions on whether intel or AMD and also ATI or nVidia. I have an AMD right now and its never given me any problems. I also am running an ATI 9200 256mb 8X vid card right now, should I go ahead and upgrade to the 6600 or 6800 GT?

Vid Card

yes on the 9200 upgrade.

I just got an a64 2800 and using a 9200se 128mb and its my current bottleneck. I'm looking at the 6600/6800 also as a replacement.

The only things I would keep in your list is the vid card and the HD. The 6600 GT is a great card, and i have nothing but good things to say about the Caviar HD. I wanted a 160 but Newegg was out. Being the impatient person I am, I got Seagate Barracuda instead.

If I were you, I'd go for 64bit just so you dont have to upgrade later.

I'd stay away from Corsair Value. The timings arent that great on them. Go for a nicer Corsair. Personally I purchased Gigaram. They arent a very well known company, but Ive heard great reviews.

As for the mobo, get something a little more flexable if youre not too tight on money, like an Asus or Abit.

I wasn't dead set on that particular motherboard, i was actually unsure of what to get, i've heard good things about msi, asus, as well as abit. I know i wanted something that supported pci-e and could handle up to 4gb of memory. Any recommendations on a particular mb? I'm also not set on intel, if AMD is just as comporable and priced about the same I could go with that as well.
