Xbox 360

I missed watching this on MTV tonight, but they unveiled the new XBOX platform.

Looks pretty cool, but I'm looking at the controller and thinking "Where the hell are the black & white buttons?" Less buttons = not better.

Not necissarily. NES still rocks with 2 buttons and D pad

I'd hope though, they'd move the black and white buttons to somewhere a bit more useful... like L2 and R2 on psx/ps2

I hope they don't do that because I really like the trigger style buttons. They're the best for any pressure sensitive control. I agree that the black/white buttons are a little unreachable at times, but I don't mind it because they're usually used for simple stuff like say checking your inventory in a game.

The triggers for example work perfectly for drag racing in NFSU2 so you can rev your motor just right. I've tried it on PS2 and it wasn't near as fun stomping on the X button (even though it is pressure sensitive, its not comparable).

and yes NES does rock with 2 buttons

The main difference is that the Controller X will have its Black and White buttons moved to just above the two analog triggers, resulting in a design that falls somewhere between the current Controller S and the PlayStation 2's Dual Shock 2 controller.

yawn, to soon. there are only 15 games out on xbox, why would you need a new console when the old ones was enough.

Well actually they gave it a built in Media Center connector. The box itself isn't a media center but lets you stream video/pics/music from a media center PC over to your TV.

I like what I see from a gamer aspect but Im a little disappointed that it won't be a real media center that can be used like a TIVO.

Be a midget to use the controller? Most people still complain that the S series is too big, even though its perfect. Maybe the old controller worked out for you if you just happened to be in a movie called Harry and the Hendersons.

I use the analog sticks, left stick for steering, right stick for throttle/break, in all racing games that allow it Mashing X = bad.

I wouldn't say the Controller S is "perfect", but certainly much better than the original controllers. I still prefer the gamecube, and ps2 contollers (in that order, though only by a small margin) over the xbox controller S.
