Private WoW server

Hey, anyone with access to the client might be interested in this. DFWFrag.com is hosting a private wow server with no monthly subscription charges. not nearly as many players, and its not supported by blizzard, but the player thing can be fixed by spreading the word. details are at www.dfwfrag.com

That will be awesome when they get it on a faster connection... 384k ... even 1.5/t1 would be ass for more than a dozen or so people.

30 players on a 384 connection. I highely doubt thats all concurrent on a 384k line. I normally use anywhere from 10k - 40k when playing WoW, he would be able to support 'maybe' 10 people max concurrently.

The idea is nominal, I'm not trying to pull any merit from it, but hosting on such a small pipe would be suicide, let alone trying to admin it for tons and tons of users. Good luck, but I'll stick to WoW for now ;p

i dont think you could host enough conenctions for it to be fun.. as big as the realm is.. with 200 ppl you could go days and not see another person.

I would recommend against Guild Wars. Played it for all of 2 days and got bored. Back to WoW...

Yeah, Guild Wars I played some during beta. Got bored quickly. It's a game based around level grinding, disguised as questing. I'm no fan of level grinding.

But it could be fun in short spurts, just not as a long-term MMO like you get with WoW, FFXI, or EQ/2.
