Thumbs up Any opinions on this laptop?

I was originally looking at some laptops at Fry's and MicroCenter, but surprisingly enough, this laptop from this week's Best Buy ad caught my eye.

My plan is to consolidate all my computers type into one - a laptop. I won't be moving it around too much, but when I do travel, it would be nice to be able to work from the same computer that I do at home (since I work out of the apartment).

I am not the most computer savvy person in the world, and I'm especially clueless about laptops. It seems to have a lot of the specs I was looking for, but I need to know if it is a good price for what it is. It is $1049.99 after rebates.

It comes with a one-year warranty on parts and labor, I believe, but do you have any recommendations about getting an extended service plan through either Best Buy ($249.99 for three years) or HP?

Thanks in advance. I appreciate it!!

Leslie

I have an HP NC8000, and a NC6000 before that. I have had no problems with either and they perform great. I also support about 250 other various models of HP and Dell laptops and while both are very good it seems we have less problems with the HP's (IMO). I also have a very good friend that recently purchased a Z9000 series and it is superb. Just as good as the Dell XPS for about $900 less.
