Tired of coming up with new passwords. Need help.

We have several systems at work that need passwords and they all expire after a certain time. They require numbers and letters. I'm tired of coming up with new ones.

I've exhausted the ones like "i8denise", "i8sandra", etc. I'm out of ex-girlfriend's names. I even used "i8mydog".

Any suggestions?

What is it that requires a password? I know my version of Windows XP at work let's you rotate 3 different passwords. By the time the 3rd one expires, the 1st one is available to be used again.

How many letter/numbers does it have to be? I like to use the season and a number at work, for example spring07 or summer03.

there are programs to generate random passwords for you. Be glad you dont work where I do.

I have ours set to 8 character, change every 90 days, and keeps a history of 10. If I get my way I will run crackers against our accounts and any that can be broken in X time frame require them to change it.

That's a good one, but I think "fall01" would be too short. Most password things need 8 characters/numbers.

fallfall01

But I must add that this is an extremely weak password capable of getting cracked in about 10 minutes.

On my servers, I require at least upper/lower mix, one number and one special character with a minimum of 8 characters total.

My 401K is now a 400K (was 301K)

We have a system that has to be at least 8 characters, must include one number, but can not start with a number, can't have two numbers next to each other, or two of the same letter next to each other. Expires every 90 days and has a 10 password memory.

I hate changing passwords on a Friday. I can't remember shit on Mondays. That's why I try to go with easy to remember patterns.

Shit Renan - you have it easy! I have 12 different accounts. There is a password safe utility that we use there that stores you PW's under one unique account. You just open the safe and double click on the account you want and it puts the PW on the clipboard. Paste away and you are in.

Our Domain account PW's are only good for 30 or 60 days and you can't use any of the last 10 I believe.

That's exactly how it is at my work.

We usually use themes (ex presidents, cars, fruits etc.) for our servers. When I need to create mass userids for users I use:

That's how it is here at my job too. I just use some of the old passwords and move some of the characters around. So if kwc were at the beginning, then the new one would start wc and move the k to the end.
