laptop/wireless/secured website dilemma

Here's something to ponder on. I have an HP laptop with an internal wireless card that I have set up on my wireless router. The strange thing that's been happening lately is when I go to my bank website. The page loads fine. Type my user ID and password for the online banking and click OK, that's when it drags its feet. Most the time it will just hang there and fail. This is on a full battery charge. Here comes the weird part. The moment I plug in the AC charger, it takes off and continues with the login. Unplug the charger, and it drags it's feet again.

Is that not freaking weird? I can still surf the web and haven't really seen that happen with any other site. That might be the only secured site that I log into...except for like yahoo email and stuff.

Just thought I'd share the problem. On the wireless NIC settings, there was a performance option for the NIC based on available battery power. I just changed it to always perform to the max instead of saving battery power and that did it.
