startup question

when the computer is first turned on and everything loads up. if you pull up the task manager and see the current application/processes running from the startup...where do i go to make sure certain things do not come up during startup.

If you are using Windows XP, then you should run MSCONFIG.

If you are running Windows 2000, you can get a copy of MSCONFIG off any WinXP or Win2k3 machine. It will run fine on Win2k.
