I hope yall understand that. My internet is working fine, fast like it alays has for awhile. But here recently , like when someone links to another site or anything (moive or pic) my comp freeze's up. I have no idea why its doing this. I think it could be a virus but I'm not for sure. What do yall think I should do going about fxing this?

well I did a scan on McAfee and came up with some virus. I didn't let it get all the way through casue I clicked on the name of the virus and it froze up again. The name of the virus is QLowZones-10 and I have it in 4 files that I know of.

Also another thing thats been happen is that when I get on the net I have to change the font size back down casue its on largest. This just started to happen to.

According to McAfee's website this virus should remove easily if you have the latest DAT update. Set McAfee to clean automatically and then let it do a full scan without stopping it. If that doesn't work boot in to safe made a do a scan from there.

If the problem still occurs after you have cleaned off the virus, try installing a different web browser and see if you still have the problem. Try installing Firefox.

Here is the direct link to the download:
http://download.mozilla.org/?product...win&lang=en-US

You didn't mention what browser you were using, so I'll assume you using Internet Explorer. If so, then the problem could be with URLmon.dll, BrowseUI.dll, or WinInet.dll (all parts of IE) You could try updating these files to the most recent versions with security rollup MS05-011:
http://www.microsoft.com/technet/sec.../ms05-011.mspx

You didn't mention what OS you had, so I can't give you the direct download URL.

OS = Operating System, as in Windows XP, Windows 98, or Windows 95...

ok now I have the McAfee anti-virus disk, I did a scan and came up with like 4 total defected files and 25 of potentially unwanted programs. Well I couldn't even quarantine or delete the infected files or the unwated ones. . So what do I do about that? It says its protected?

Also I went ahead and pick up Windows XP, but it froze up installing it. But I'm going to give it another try.

Also how do you go about the startup. Everytime I turn my comp on it has like 12-14 programs running . I know there is way and I can't remember how. I know I don't need all those damn programs running either.

(edit) Just did the scan and only had 2 potentially unwated programs and nothing else. heck I just deleted those.
