My xbox wont read like half of my games, it says they are dirty or damaged, but they work fine on my friend's xbox. Whats the problem?

Probably your DVD drive going bad. I've already had one do that, and I just picked up another on EBAY. It will take any harddrive, but it has to be a specific type of DVD drive.

If you drop one, or kick it, or have a dog that doesn't watch where it's going, and knocks things over on top of it, you could cause premature failure of your DVD drive. They don't respond well to shock, it causes the laser to fail. Not just get out of alignment, fail. My little brothers went out on his, but he got mad and kicked it. I've had mine for almost two years, but I've never had too much of a problem with mine.

Im not sure if it's a problem with xboxs as well, but I've had to take apart my ps2 and clean the lens before when I was getting errors reading games.
