Best mp3 player for the money?

Just like it says. I'm lookin to get at least 1gig of memory. Anything more is just superfluous, but i'll take it . I don't really want to spend anything more than 100-150 bucks. I've seen those stick mp3 players on ebay that double as a voice recorder and usb memory drive, but they're like 500-some odd megs. TIA

edit : Portable mp3 player

Apple makes a shuffle, it is 512 or 1 gig and about the size of a thumbdrive. Mine shipped today, they are hard as hell to find, the store at willow bend sells em out in hours, and has only had two shipments of em. Every fucken person working there has one or two, but they don't have any to sell.

The prices are 99 and 149...

I got the Creative MUVO Sport C100.
Its a flash player which will never skip or get damaged from dropping/jogging.

Came with 256m for $99. Then I added a 512 card for $38

Do those iPod shuffles allow you to hook them up to your car radio like the regular iPods?

Use that and it will play anything that has a headphone jack through your car stereo (transmits via FM signal).

I just got my 512MB iPod Shuffle and I love it. I think just 512MB is plenty of space for any amount of music that is going to be useful to a person.

I picked up a samsung yh-920 from office depot on friday. It has 20gb, fm tuner, voice recorder, you can record from just about anything that has line out and also record from the radio. It was $250 out the door with a $150 mail in rebate so when its all said and done 100 bucks aint that bad.

iRiver makes awesome mp3 players and they're pretty durable and come in many different memory sizes. you can find them cheap in Fry's or on ebay, and they sell at tons of other stores too.

I accidentally forgot to take mine out of my pocket after working out and got in the hot tub for about 15 min. The next day it was still working fine. oh yeah, and it does also have a digital fm tuner and you can record from the radio on to it and then even transfer those recordings on to your computer via USB and save them. the thing that sucks though is that I use itunes on my comp to import all my cd's to have a copy of them on it and that format (mp4) doesn't work on an iRiver and I have no idea how to convert them to MP3. everything else works fine.

we sell the apple and creative mp3 players. i would recommend the creative muvo out of all the players. you can get the 512mb for 125 or 1gb for i believe 195 from our store. they have the mp3 player, fm tuner, screen, voice recorder, and works as a memory stick as well. best player IMO

Yea, thanks guys. I dont like the idea of itunes. I'd rather play whatever i want on my mp3 player. I've been lookin around and I think i've decided on getting the 4gb creative muvo 2. Straight from ebay.

Your music doesn't have to be from iTunes to play it on an iPod. None of my music is from iTunes and I have no problems putting it on there. If you want something that just plays music and thats it, I'd recommend the Shufflle because its what you need at thats it. If you want a radio, video game like screen, etc. then go get something else.
