Mame and Xbox Joystick? (hotrod vs x-arcade)

Ok I have a few questions out there for anyone who may have an x-arcade or hotrod joystick, or for anyone in the know.

First off I'm planning on buying a joystick for all of my mame games, the x-arcade is like $50 more than a hotrod, but there seems to be a reason. In addition to mame PC games I'd like to be able to use it, for my Xbox or PS2.

I know that the x-arcade has hardware that allows it to be used for these applications (home gaming systems). But is this even an option with the Hotrod? I've looked around on google a bit to find the answer but haven't seemed to come up with anyhting.

Anyone with any idea if hooking up the hotrod to home gaming consoles is possible please point me in the right direction. Or tell me how you've done it yourslef.

If it is more of a pain in the ass than it's worth please tell me that as well, becuase with the $50 I save, I could probably just buy 2 xbox joysticks on ebay.

Thanks in advance for any replys or information.
