Educate me.....TV shopping?

Can someone educate me on the current TV market? I'm kicking around the idea of getting a new TV with my tax money. I don't care about flat panel/plasma, just want a good picture size and quality. DLP yeah or nay? Only looking to spend about 1250-2000, mainly just looking for opinions and what features to look for and which to avoid. If a specific feature means exceeding the price range then let me know any way, and I might have to adjust if it is important.

You won't be getting a DLP or LCOS tv in that price range most likely. Make sure it's a wide screen and will support 720p and 1081i. I'd also shop specifically for something with an HDMI or at the very least a DVI input, these are video input standards. A different type of cable instead of a component set, compare it to an S-video cable over coax. Slightly better picture, definitely worth it.

I may be able to hook you up with a tv... let me know when you narrow it down a little

I would do a DLP if I wasn't getting a projector... most likley going to end up with the same one thiscat mentioned
