Help - Need DSL Service in McKinney

Tired of my crappy dial up. I want DSL, but unfortunatly I cannot find service in my neighborhood. I live maybe a block north of 380, near Stonebridge ranch. No SBC, no ATT, Earthlink, ect. Only thing I have found was Covad, $154.00 a month!? WTF..please help.

Good luck. I'm near 380 & 75 by the community college and no DSL either. I have comcast for high speed internet.

The CO for McKinney is in Downtown and an older one so distances are rather limited.

I'm near Eldorado and Custer. I've got 6Mbps/768kbps SBC DSL. Granted, I'm in a new development.

You will not find anything lower than that if you want fast internet in your area . Directway which is satellite will be more exspensive and less reliable. If you don't want to spend over $45 a month then forget it and stick with your slow ass dial-up .

For the first 3 months, or something like that. Gotta read the fine print on prices like that. Comcast is normally around $45 - $50 / month, just like any other cable internet provider. DSL's generally slightly cheaper, but also slightly slower.

Yep, it's $29.95 a month, for 6 months, then goes up to $50. I had to shell out $90 for a Motorola cable modem box, but you can send in a rebate to get that back. I couldn't find anyone else in my neck of the woods. Beggar's can't be choosers.....
