Angry HALF LIFE 2 issues

The godamn game won't play. I have win XP service pack 2 on Dell dimension 3000 desktop. It goes to loading with the blurred screen and it just freezes there. I have never gotten past that. Can anyone tell me WTF is going on? I already tried installing it as a admin, I also tried uninstalling then re installing no success! Could the video card need to be updated? I would appreciate any help!

Thanks

I think it may have something to do with my video card. Its integrated into to mother board. Here is the name: Integrated Intel® Extreme Graphics 2. Looks like it doesn't have any space to save the rendering graphics required for HL2. So I guess I need a real video card huh?

Yep, I bet that's it. Get yourself a decent damned AGP card.

Ha! My pocket PC has more memory than that video card. I suggest a FX6800.

I second that.
but Silver, the 6800 is not an FX series card, it's a 6 series card.
I just got a 6800 GT and it's clocked at Ultra Speeds (400/1100).
It plays everything i've throwed at it, with no hiccups what so ever.
bad ass, but a bit on the "pricey" side.
but it does future proof you for a while.
