what audio recording software do you use?

I have found a few sites that stream full stereo versions of songs to the PC via Active-X pages. I can capture the music with XP's built-in sound recorder but it appears to be capped at 60 seconds. I dont need anything fancy, just something that will let me pull down capture 5-6min audio files.

any suggestions?

found one - Advanced MP3/WMA Audio Recorder by xaudio tools. No input or microphone cables, pulls right from your soundcard and encodes direct to MP3.

Ck it out at www.xaudiotools.com

yes, it does work great; it took a bit of research if you know what I mean.

As for the best site I found, here you go. A few of the songs are watermarked with a "First listen @ AOL" and there are some great acoustic versions on there as well. You will need Real Player and the first time you listen you may be prompted to install a goofy AOL media plugin. Easily removable but it is WELL worth it.

I use a program called Total Recorder, allows you to also encode to whatever format you want and can record pretty much anything. Pretty cool.

Windows Media Encoder? Is that built into Winows Media Player 10 or what? You can record whatever comes thru your PC speakers diret to MP3 w/no time cap? Can you give a few more details?

Also, is the Total Recorder free and uncapped?

Saves it as a wma file, which usually works fine for me but if I need a mp3 for something I just use goldwave to encode it.
