what type of cable do i need for this?

Im trying to run a cable from my router to my xbox. the xbox will be over 60 feet away from the dsl router. what cable/cables do i need?

i bought one from frys. a 100 foot cat 5 cable and it did not work. it was not recognized by my xbox.

I thought they had to be no more than 25 ft. Maybe I'm thinking old school network cabling.

First off, it doesnt need to be a cross over cable ( reverse cable?! ), second off, the maximum length for cat 5 is not 25 ft, third verizon doesnt make a router.

Plug the xbox directly to your DSL Modem, its the device that your phone line plugs into. See if it turns the ethernet light on when you connect it and then test the network connection on your xbox.

he has to setup pppoe on the xbox.
