where the hell can I find a 25' crossover cable locally?

I tried CompUSA, BestBuy, Radioshack, but non of them have a 25' crossover cable. I would rather not have to order one online because I will probably be gone back to Austin by the time it got here. Any help?

Splice the cable open, separate the wires barely, get the color pattern in a certain order on on side, reverse the other end of the cable. Special crimpers are nice, connecters yes you will need.

Just get a 15 Foot or whatever size Crossover. then get an adaptor to plug in 2 cables to each other. then run the rest of the way with regular cat 5. it will act like crossover.

Dont be stupid and make your own, by the time you've bought all the supplies you'll be out like $30 - $50 for a single fucking cable. Just buy one or rig one up like the guy above me says.

or see if anyone near you has a crimper and connectors. We've got em here at the office and I own a pair of crimpers and a cable tester

If you just cannot find a X-over that long, buy a short one and a rj-45 female to female adapter. That way you can connect a 3' (or whatever) x-over to a 20' (or whatever) straight through cable and get close to the length that you want.

edit: Just like the guy above says to do!!! Ooops

It isn't the best way to do it but it works if you are in a bind.

Buying dogs kills.

Come meet me somewhere and I will make a cable for you. I am in the Grapevine/Southlake area.

Have the Cable, Crimpers and Connectors.

I wont charge you but for what the cable and conectors cost.

Thanks,
Jarret
