if you don't have a video card in it right now (integrated), then putting a video card will do milestones for your computers performance.

i have a 9800 ATI that i'd sell for 75$, it's a good card, and i'll let you try it before you buy.

it was the card i bought initially for gaming, and i had no problem playing anything with it, but i decided to build my (then) girlfriend a computer to use, and i put it in her computer, along with a bunch of other good parts and she played solitaire on it, so i took it apart, and sold most of it.

i THINK it's a 128bit version, and it has 128mb of memory.

Not the absolute best, but you won't find anything better for 75 bucks. Does not matter if it is the Pro or NP version, 75 is a good dealio for it. It is one of ATI's latest chipsets, directx 9 compliant, fast - if it is the NP version....

1. It is very overclockable
2. Some people have flash the NP to make them Pros and still could overclock them afterwards.

The ATI 9800 is a very good card, especially for 75 bux.

My 2 cents.

At that price it probably is 9800SE so 128bit. That's a very good price, they go for $130 new.

No AGP slot? That is really odd, thought they were pretty much standard these days. The sound card thing...yeah, *I* had no idea the difference a sound card could make until I got an Audigy 2 in a desktop I bought...makes gaming funner.
