Task Manager Processes help

when you control+alt+delete to bring up the task manager, where can i go to find out what all of those processes running do so i can close ones I do not need. some of them are self explanatory but some are confusing.

Viper's page is great for killing unnecessary processes but alot of things in task manager won't be on his site. "liutilities" page in above post is a great site and try the link below.
