Who has business class internet at home?

Who services you, what connection do you have, and how much do you pay? I have been using a shell on a buddies server behind his T1 in Seattle for years now, and I've recently been looking into just setting up my own server to have more control and maybe do the same for some friends. I'm just trying to look into my options. I currently have Comcast regular broadband service (3meg down / 128 up) and obviously I need better upload and a static IP. Looks like the cheapest package from Comcast is $100 more per month then I pay now and only looks to be 512 up. I'd like to get 1.5 up before it really seems to be a viable option. Anyone have experience w/ Comcast or DSL business class service? I'm also going to look into a frac T1, it can't be that much more I figure.

Be sure to check out Comcast's TOS. Even with the business plan, they don't want you running any services.

I'm running a 6M/768k with 5 statics for 100 a month. DSL, it's not great, but it's not 200+ a month.

Hmmm ... 6M/768k and 5 statics for $100 is definitely not too bad of deal. I might be able to make that work. You w/ Verizon or SBC?

comcast forgot to tell everyone, but we're supposedly getting 384k upload for the same 49.99.

my service doesn't seem any faster uploading than it used to, but i don't know for sure.

if you've got a t1 router then you might check into some of these places that you can get a full t1 for 300-400/month.

I'll check and see what a guy I know that has his own local isp is charging.

SBC. Be sure to call, and not try the website. They offer different packages in different locations, and the website isn't setup for that.

I have a home plan, $45 for 15Mbits download and 2Mbits upload (fiber optics line). I think Verizon offers the same package for business users as well, not sure about pricing. Call them and ask about FIOS.

If you end up deciding to set something out, I'd be willing to contribute toward it monthly and/or possibly equipment
