More virus/adware bullshit

Well my computer nightmare lives.

Preface: Went to website, gave me all this BS about some virus being on my computer and to run antivirus, but it looked like a pop up so I didn't (still don't know if it was or not). Anyway, ever since then I've had massive popups, slow system, websites nothing running right, etc. So I download SpyBot, SpySweeper, and Panda Antivirus. I've ran all of them probably 5 times a piece, each time it picks up new shit.

So now I recently ran all 3 back to back and turned off system restore hoping they wouldn't come back, and it deleted 10 things or so, but I STILL have popups when I go to a few sites, and some of the words are hyperlinked (like on webpages, forums, etc) that say "more info" when I mouse over them.

So what can I do, besides reformatting everything, to get this junk off my desktop for good?

download Zone Alarm Security Suite. All you are doing now is cleaning the embedded software once it manifests its self. You need to get at the root of the problem. download the trail version then go to and get the free key to enter later if you want the software for free.

the zone alarm SS comes with free anti virus as well. i use it and Mozilla Firefox as my browser and have yet to have a single pop up/virus/any problems what so ever in over a year.

hope this helps

Did you run the definition updates for spysweeper and spybot? If u didn't, then your system is not completely clean of spyware because the definition files are at least a few months old. I would also try Adaware, make sure and run the updates as well on it.
