Specs on Vid Card.....

I have a ATI 9600SE, trying to play Doom3, but it's not smooth at all. I have to use low to med graphics on settins & it is still not smooth. What type of card do I need to be able to play it with at least a high setting without it skipping. Looking to spend between 150 -180$. Give me some ideas. I bought this card about 2wks ago from fryes for 129$. Guess it's not enought for Doom3.

Try a Geforce FX5700LE.

You won't get a high setting on Doom3 on a card for less than $200, I don't think.

It will not pwoer the game at full blown settings.. but it should run smothly at 1024x768... Make sure you have the latest catalyst drivers installed.. get them from www.ati.com there hsould be a link in the lower left of that page.

Don't know too much about PC's, but will updating drivers for the card help it that much.
