how do i stop pop-up's...GRRRRR

ok, I have verizon DSL. I use Internet explorer as my browser..

So I login to my pc tonight, I click on IE, my home page is set to go to my email login screen, well before i can even get a cursor to type in my screen name and password I have to wait to get through about 5 or 6 pop up's. it seems to be getting worse and worse, its a real pain in the a$$.I have to deal with pop ups the whole time im online.

Now IE has a "built in" pop up blocker, that apparently isnt worth a damn, however when i logged on to DFWstangs tonight i got a little window that says I have a "new private message", so i click on the "open in a new window" option and the damn pop up blocker blocks the private message window.......Im getting pretty frustrated with this......does anyone know of some settings i can change or if there is a better pop blocking software or something out there, because my online experiences sure do suck these days

thanks for any help

Steve

Yes, tabbed browsing rules! Even at work. First tab has the 'new posts' list and I CTRL+CLICK each thread that I want to read and they all open new tabs. If I need to bail, one [X] and they are all gone.

Slimbrowser is better than Firefox in my opinion.

There you have it. The best options -- anything but IE. Even IE+Google toolbar isn't bad.
