popup hell!!!!

Why is it when you get a popup stopper they seem to work for alittle while then over time they dont work anymore?? Its like the popups become immune to the software and the soppers dont work anymore. Whats a good pop up stopper out there that really works!!

Most popups are related to adware/spyware. You need to remove the adware/spyware to actually prevent the popups from coming up. Popup stoppers, IMHO, are worthless. I get zero popups with no popup stopper by just keeping my system clean of spyware and other junk.

If you absolutely must have a popup stopper, i've heard alot of people use google toolbar.

Mozilla stops nearly all popups. Yahoo and google tool bars work well to. If you have XP then sp2 has a great popup blocker built in.

Google does let alot through. Opera browser has built in pop up blocker and works great. Stay away from all those porn thumbnail galleries and you will not see so many

+1 for Mozilla Firefox, i also use Zone Alarm Pro too. www.zonelabs.com download the trial version then search the net for key code once it expires (15 days).

I can't remember what a pop up even looks like.

Well,
I use the Google Toolbar, and I run Ad-aware, Spybot, and TuneUp Utilities Registry Defrag every other day...And I also have XP's built in Firewall enabled, and also have IE6's popup blocker enabled...and still get a couple of popups here and there...but not many...maybe like 1 or 2..
