Best way to clean a PS2?

It doesn't want to read the disks half the time and it'll freeze a lot. What's the best way to clean it? Or am I going to need to take it somewhere to have it looked at?

thx

cleaning it urself will void the warranty. So if that period has passed its all good. Mine gave the same problem. I popped out all the little plastic stoppers on the bottom, unscrewed it. I think I had to unscrew something else to get to the laser. then I took some glasses cleaning cloth and dabbed it in alcohol and lightly rubbed the lens. ps2 works fine now.

man, too bad things aren't more simple like the Old Nintendos used to be. You could pcik them bad boys up, flip the top up, blow in it a few good times, and game on.
