How to change scroll setting?

I just got another computer today and whenever I scroll using the scroll button on the mouse instead of scrolling nice and easy the page looks like it is skipping or like a page is flipping which makes it hard to read the page. You can't read as your going. You have to wait for it to stop. How can I change this setting?

What type of mouse? I had a similar problem with a wireless Logitech mouse. I would scroll down, and it would bounce all the way down to the bottom of the page, sometimes go back up a little, etc. I got a new mouse and it works fine. That same mouse works fine at my friends house, just on this computer for some dumb reason???

It is a Logitech but not a wireless. Just a plain one with scroll button. It is the same mouse we have used for several years. We just switched towers today. It was working fine til I switched.

In XP you can change the settings in the control panel under mouse... in 2000 or 98, you have to change it from teh registry or tweakui.

however, I think logitech drivers install an extra tab on the mouse settings.. so you may be able to do it on any Windows version.
