Firewire connections

Apparently I'm retarded when it comes to computers.

My brother just got a new comp, and wants a couple thousand of my MP3s.
I've done this before, when i transfered a bunch of stuff from a friends laptop to my desktop, but I can't get it to work this time and i dont know why.

So the two computers are sitting next to each other, with the firewire cable connecting both of them... how do I go about actually transfering files?

You might need to enable IEEE.1394 Networking on his computer. That will enable his FireWire connection to act as a network port.
