PS2 substitue HDD

Has anyone used another HD besides the ps2 final fantasy HDD game pack, on their ps2? How hard was it and what programs were required to get it to work? Thanks for any info.

If it's possible, you'll most likely need a mod chip installed, just like with the XBox.

Quick search on Google found that yeah, you'll need a mod chip, and some program called hdloader that formats hdd's in the ps2 to be used as the ps2 hdd. People have been putting 160GB hdd's in their ps2's.
