Abit IC7-Max3 mobo
P4 Prescott 3 Ghz 1mb L2 cache 800mhz FSB
1 gig Corsair plat. low latency matched pair
Cooler Master wave case
120 gig sata
sony dual layer DVD writer
its all up and running now and all I can say is the prescotts run hot... the idle temp settles around 60 degrees celcius ... the abit board is awesome, supper easy to tweak and an over clockers dream... Waiting on water cooling system and its over clocking time
The only problems besides the temp running alittle warm is a Disk boot failure, some settings in the bios with the SATA, have to call abit tomorrow...

interesting choice on the prescott, i have a similar machine with a lowly DFI board and 3.0C, i'm interested in seeing your benchmarks, nobody i know of has had good luck OC'ing those CPUs.
sounds like a nice machine.
Yeah most peps go with the northwood which run much cooler... I was torn between the AMD 64 and a P4 but I've been running intel for a while, and I keep hearing problems about 64bit mobos... I've gotten it up to 3.2 but started having troubles with temp... Once I get it water cooled there shouldn't be any problem... I've seen 3.4 prescotts up to 4.5 with a vaporchill system...
I got around a 50fps averege with UT2004 benchmark 1600x1200 every setting at max with no O.C.ing...
