Last night, I ran a virus scan, on a coworkers computer, and now...

it won't connect to the network! well, it will, but only with other computers with the same operating system. some of our computers have XP and some have Windows 2000...his has 2000, and mine has XP, so it won't connect. the bad thing is that his computer houses the database for a program that i use, so now my junk won't work! i've tried to fix it, but i can't figure the damn thing out! any opinions? the strange thing is that every other 2000 computer, i can access, except for his. ...and it's not my computer, because nobody else with XP can access his computer, either!

i barely get by on a computer...explain how to do that.

if i go to a windows 2k machine, i can communicate with his machine, but anyone with windows xp can't...and vice versa...he can communicate with any win 2k machine but no xp machines.

that's what i'm thinking of doing. i didn't want to bug her, if i could get some help here, though. usually i can figure out the easy stuff, but his computer is all jacked up. for some reason, no matter how many spyware programs and virus scans you run, he always has pop-ups, and his computer is REALLY SLOW!!! i mean, slow to the point that you can go to the restroom and come back before some programs open!

do you know how to get his ip address? from command prompt (ms-dos) type ipconfig, get the ip address of his computer and on your computer type ping (his ip address x.x.x.x) see if you can ping it. if so type his ip address in the explorer window and you will see his computer. if not whell lol will take a lot to explain. pm me if you need more help.
