Question ram in my laptop

I am thinking about putting a gig of pc 2100 geil golden dragon in my 2.4 ghz laptop.

i have heard from a buddy that i won't see much performance past a 512mb ram install. he says i am just banging my head against the law of deminishing return. is this true? should i go ahead and get the gig? or just add 512 to the 256 i already have?

and what do you guys think about geil golden dragon ram?

should i go with another brand? if so what do you guys recomend?

Upgrading ram is the single most important upgrade a person can do for a computer. I say go for it, you should see a difference.

GeIL has some of the best and fastest memory around and people have had pretty good luck overclocking it. Its alittle pricey but you get what you pay for.
