Norton won't connect to the internet for "live update"...
i have dsl, and i connect fine, via internet explorer, but norton says that it can't connect. i've gone through just about every option for connection that i can, and it's not doing anything. i have verizon dsl, btw. also, i did some searching and apparently there are some problems with linksys routers, but my computer is connected directly to the dsl fujitsu modem... does anyone have any suggestions?

i think that their website must be down. i clicked on "help", and it went to www.symantec.com, which is down for me, and the update goes to liveupdate.symantecliveupdate.com, which is also down for me. maybe they're just having issues. see if those sites work for you.

Zone Alarm is a bitch dude...just because you shut it down doesnt mean that the necessary port is open. I had this problem also...but only once in a while - restart and ditch zone alarm before it gets a chance to load and you should be fine.

I've had this problem with zone alarm. At one point, it kept me from getting on the internet period. I had to re-install it and since then, i've been ok.
