Sony Memory Stick Pro Problems

Any idea why I can't get this 256 MB Memory Stick Pro to work on my universal card reader? Works at home on the reader I have built into my HP Computer but not on the add on USB one I have at work. Someone here was telling me it's because its' a "Pro" stick and they won't work possible because of the encryption which doesn't make sense.

Anyone have this happen to them before?

Yeah, you need a pro stick reader. Something like this:

I think the Pro has a different file format as the regular memory stick, but i could be wrong on this.

True, it says, "Transfers data between Memory Stick media (including Memory Stick PRO) and USB-equipped PCs". If there was no difference then they wouldn't have to mention it.

Is it sony mem? I picked up some lexar and had all kinds of trouble with it with my reader. Found out that lexar uses a different timing or some thing like that. Found a update for the reader but ended up taking it back and getting sony stick. Just a thought.
