Compaq proliant 5500 with a compaq proliant storage system attached (14 drives total)

for some reason no matter when I try and place LILO or GRub after I sit through the install for redhat 8 (just to get back to something I am somewhat familar with) after install it just comes back to the prompt that says GRUB _

basicly after doing that 5 times I am giving up on it about about to put that server up for sale.... just installed a new drive in one of my other servers and going from there....

<---------- VERY FRUSTRATED

i'm guessin that he was running fedora, and has since tried to go back to rh8?...
what type of scsi controller are you using?
Have you tried initializing the array, let it clean up the array itself, then try reloading?

I had one of those old proliants a while back, It seems I had to do some things to make it boot from a raided scsi array. You should be able to find it if you google!

yeah we where not able to get Slack to see the raid... and I have been searching all over... we just got it to work from the external storage unit and figured I would mount the array later...

Any idea on where to find the crap to get into the config for the array would be great....
