Sound Cards

I just bought some 5.1 Surround Sound Speakers for the new comp.. And was wondering what's a good Sound Card, for the 5.1 setup? I don't play games or anything like that I just want it for my music..

The soundblaster Audigy 2 sounds good. I haven't trien any others, so I can't recommend them.

don't install the software that comes with the audigy cards, gave me lots of trouble even after multiple updates, I eventually uninstalled my SB Audigy and went back to onboard sound. If you get one, when you install use the microsoft drivers and don't use the CD that it comes with, after you get it set up run a driver update and your set...When you install their drivers it installs a lot of other software, and with XP its drivers gave me stability issues...

Maybe onboard sound was part of the problem. I hate "onboard" anything. It give you nothing but problems whenever you try to add a card of the same type.

I disabled onboard sound through my bios, it was a driver issue...The problem is that they embed software with the driver install...just use generic driver when you first install then update later... just my $.02
