What's the going price???

Whats the going price to have a computer assem. from the ground up loaded with basic software, me supplying all parts. Im just looking for assembley and configuration cost.

I would do it, but every time I offer to help people with their computer issues, then when ANYTHING breaks or crashes they blame me and expect me to fix it. It's not worth it to me.

I have already got a guy off the board lined up, he just dosent know what would be fair the charge... I also dont have the slightest clue on how to install everything and wire up everything inside the CPU.. I figured it would be better left to someone that knew wtf they were doing.

Depends on the complexity of the install. I would think anyone that has built or assembled many pc's would have a standard hourly rate and then its up to you to decide if its worth it.

I usually very my rates depending on service.

I've done anything from setting up a desktop, to setting up an entire network, to doing security audits both thru the internet and onsite so I price them each accordingly.

assembly doesn't take long if you have any experience at it...Installing XP is easy it just takes awhile...

Well when I build them, I take the time to install all software that will be needed (both system and application software), and fully update/patch all software. That plus HW installation time, and drive formatting, means it usually takes me several hours. So I would think $50-$100 would be the minimum.
