I hate to be an a-hole (no I don't) but there is no chance of getting the above message from having a floppy in the drive!

If they have a non bootable floppy in the drive and it tries to boot from there you could this type of error.

I've supported a bunch of "idiots" over the years. I can try to confirm this here in a second. I did solve this possible problem by 90% of my users now have no floppy drives and they have no access to their cdrom drives.

No there isn't a disk in the floppy
but every where I read about this problem it states that I was trying to upgrade from 98-2000-Me to XP..
Well I already have XP on this comp.. I have never had any problems..I am really stumped..

I'm not sure on XP but I know 2000 and 2003 server you can boot into a system recovery console mode.

I've had to do this to fix/replace corrupted files. Do you have a spare PC you could pull the drive and put it into?

i donnt think XP Home has the RC, but you can boot to an XP cd, and install teh RC if it is available... i think it is a must have on all 2k+ machines.
